Panda Bear photos

I forgot to mention this last week, but Rolling Stone picked up one of my images for their review of the Panda Bear show that happened at Bowery last week. Check it out here. Awesome? Very!

Today was the first day of the summer Pool Party series put on by the awesome Jelly NYC. I am way too tired/sun burnt to do a full write up, so just check out my photos up on flickr here. Next weeks lineup is awesome, so don't miss it!

Panda Bear/Rusty Santos/Kria Brekken @ Bowery Ballroom - NYC - 6/18/07

The show was OK. It was great to hear "Comfort in Nautica" and some other great tracks from Person Pitch on a giant sound system. But the video projection wasn't that interesting and Noah Lennox just kind of stood behind his equipment and didn't move too much. It all sounded great, but it felt like I was just listening to the CD at home with trippier visuals. Maybe I had myself too hyped up for the show, but I was slightly disappointed.

Sorry

It's been a slow week and I've been busy working or actually relaxing for once. I haven't been to a show since Bang On A Can and my next one is this Saturday where I am shooting Pig Destroyer for Skyscraper Magazine. I'm going to start going through the Bang On A Can photos tonight and will hopefully have them up by the weekend (there are like 400 of them so it's a little overwhelming).

Bang On A Can Marathon - World Financial Center - 6/2 & 6/3

I photographed the Bang On A Can Marathon for Pitchfork this weekend. 26 hours of music (I only missed like 5-6 hours) in the gorgeous World Financial Center, located right on the water. I saw some incredible performances of music that I would have never otherwise listened to and got to meet/talk to some very cool people, which is always a plus. TONS of photos coming this week from the show, but for now check out my picture of Yo La Tengo, The Books, Dalek, Clogs, and Juana Molina that I shot for Pitchfork here.
